Michael David Hopley is a senior partner at LFH Accountants and Auditors Inc. Born in Portsmouth, England in 1946, Mr Hopely moved to South Africa in 1953 where he attended school at Bushlands Primary School in Durban and Highlands North High School in Johannesburg. After matriculating, Mr Hopley completed his ACIS (Associate Chartered Secretary) qualification. He had always had entrepreneurial acumen so after completing his articles with Wolpert and Abrahams and working for Hills Swabyne and Company in Durban in the 1960s, he decided to open his own firm where he spearheaded cashflow projecting and budgeting for clients. Mr Hopley has run companies in various capacities in a large array of industries such as property, energy, tourism, clothing and shipping in South Africa, the United Kingdom and Canada. He then joined Liebenberg Fraser in 2008 when the company became LFH Inc. Mr Hopley is a proponent of only taking up activities one enjoys. He has let that philosophy carry him and perhaps is the key to his success.
