Straight after completing his matric in 1999, Martin started his articles with a small firm of Chartered Accountants, while studying parttime through UNISA until 2002. He then completed his Honours degree and CTA and spent 6 months working for Liebenberg Fraser in 2004 before joining Rhino Cash and Carry as a Financial Manager. Soon bought out by the Massmart Group, the experience Martin gained at this company was invaluable as he was exposed to the full finance function of a big company. While he enjoyed the business environment, Martin realised that he missed the advisory work from his time as a trainee accountant and that his true passion lay with helping small and medium businesses achieve success. Outside of work, Martin is a keen tennis player and still competes in various provincial and national tournaments when time permits.
